They provide a much needed voice for Judeo-Christian values in public policy matters. Before each election, VAC Action, their legislative arm, publishes a Values Voter Guide giving valuable information on the positions of candidates on issues important to families like yours and mine. They cover those hard to learn about elections for School Boards, City Councils, Community College Districts, and the Board of Supervisors. The Values Advocacy Council organizes the Pastor Breakfast and the evening "Time of Prayer, Praise, and Worship" at San Jose City Hall on the National Day of Prayer. They sponsor bi-monthly luncheons with top quality speakers. Their March speaker is Ron Prentice, Executive Director of CA Family Council, discussing the future of Proposition 8. May's speaker is Brian Sussman, the morning anchor of top-rated KSFO 560 AM. The Values Advocacy Council is working to repeal "Confidential Medical Release" policies adopted by local school boards in our valley. "Confidential Medical Release" policy allows a student as young as 7th grade to leave the school campus during school hours to undergo an abortion, receive STD, suicide, alcohol and/or drug treatment and counseling...without parental knowledge or consent.
